Great tour with lots of great history. Would love to see more locations added if possible. Noticed the reviews in reference to the Cohen Building but maybe they did see the description where it talks about the change of the building after the 1920s fire.

  • There are some discrepancies, however it shows pictures of a good variety of places in our town. the Cohen Building next to the

The Cohen Building in the picture is not accurate. The original building "The Cohen Department Store, North Second Avenue is totally changed. Today it is the home of Alpena Furniture and Flooring. I have a copy of the original building in my collection & one can see the name on the front. BUt the building in the photo has the glass block windows and glass block windows had not beeen invented when the store was built. But a good mix of pictues.

Enjoyed the tour of my birthplace. The Thunder Bay Theater was originally The Alpena Candy & Cigar Wholesale Company where my dad, Ralph "Francis" Mischley, worked for 54 years before he retired in 1984.

I'm thinking these two photos are NOT of the same building. I remember well being taken to bowl over the furniture store by my dad in the early 1950's or earlier. This old photo has buildings on the left side, not possible by the river. Maybe 2 diff bldgs?
