Discover the people, places and events linked to Merton during the First World War.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, this project reveals the history of Merton during the First World War. Merton Heritage Service is working with a team of local volunteers to record the life stories of people commemorated on war memorials and gravestones across the borough, as well as details of life on the Home Front. The project team is producing a range of resources designed to raise awareness of Merton’s wartime heritage, from exhibitions and school packs, to First World War collections.
