About the museum

Described as Ireland's finest example of eighteenth-century ecclesiastical architecture, Christ Church Cathedral is today, as it has been for nearly 1000 years, a focal point of Christian community in Waterford.  It is the cathedral for the Diocese of Waterford in the Church of Ireland (Anglican) United Dioceses of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.

In addition to worship, the cathedral opens its doors to visitors throughout the year.  People of all faiths and none are invited to explore its history and heritage.  There is no entrance fee, but donations toward the upkeep of this unique cathedral are gratefully received.

Superb building with an unsurpassed history being a site of prayer and Christian celebration for 1,000 years and is still the city parish church for the ( Church of Ireland) anglican community. NOT TO BE MISSED if you visit Waterford city as it’s situated within the Viking triangle.
