About the museum
The international wine label museum was created in 1987 under the expert guidance of Professor Armando Ginesi in palazzo Leoni, an 18th century building opposite the current location.
Years ago Mr. Rossi from Cupra Montana started collecting wine labels. Soon his collection grew because, to his own surprise, he was sent labels from all over the world. In the end he could call himself the proud owner of 100,000 labels.
In 2016 the collection in this building moved to become part of the museum complex MIG | Musei In Grotta (museumin the caves). The vaulted cellars of the 18th century Santa Catarina Monastery houses the tourist office, the wine-making museum, the history of the wine festival, the street of taste, the EnoCupra and outside the botanical garden.
