Raphael Santi. The Tempi Madonna (Raphael Santi. Die Madonna Tempi)

‘The Tempi Madonna’ is one of the best artworks by Raphael. It was completed by the end of his sojourn in Florence. Next, on a call of Pope Julius, he came to Rome to create the worldwide famous Stanze in the Vatican Palace. It is known that in the end of the 17th century this picture was in the ownership of the Tempi family.
For the first time ever, Elector Ludwig saw this Madonna during his Italian travel in 1808 and set his sights on the picture. He spent a lot of money and efforts in order to obtain it. And only in 1818 [did] the picture arrived in Munich.
