Audio tour Art of France of the XVII-XIX centuries

By the 18th century, the center of European artistic life moved to France. With the spread of the Rococo style, works by French masters are acquired by collectors from different countries. At the level of language, philosophy, literature, and visual arts, French culture actively penetrates into Russia. Russian travelers, diplomats acquire the works of French artists not only in the antiquarian market or Salon exhibitions, but make orders in the workshops (N. B. Yusupov, D. P. Tatischev). In the imperial and private collections of Russia, French art was represented by first-class samples. A. P. Bogolyubov, the founder of the Radischev Museum, also belonged to the followers of French pictorial culture.
