Some practical information before we begin. Our walk begins in Max Joseph Square at the foot of the bronze statue of King Maximilian Joseph the 1st. The nearest metro station is Marienplatz. The Royal Residence is open every day and closes at 4 pm from the 16th of October to the 31st of March and at 6 pm the rest of the year.
